Terms of Use — PCOS Pal

Draft — not yet reviewed by a lawyer. This document was written to cover

the obligations the app actually creates and to satisfy App Store guideline

3.1.2, which requires functional Terms of Use on any screen selling a

subscription. Have a qualified lawyer in your operating jurisdiction review

it before you ship. The liability, warranty and governing-law sections in

particular are jurisdiction-specific.

1. Who we are

PCOS Pal ("the app", "we", "us") is a mobile application for tracking and learning about Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. By downloading, opening or using the app you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. PCOS Pal is not medical care

This is the most important section of this document.

PCOS Pal is an educational and self-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, it does not diagnose any condition, and nothing in it is a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

• Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your symptoms, medication and treatment. Never disregard or delay medical advice because of something you read in this app.
• Cycle and fertility estimates are not contraception. PCOS cycles are frequently irregular, which makes ovulation prediction unreliable by nature. Do not rely on the fertile-window estimate to prevent or achieve pregnancy.
• Supplement information is educational, not a prescription. The app lets you record supplements you already take. It does not recommend any, and it shows no dosages — a dose is a prescription, and it is not ours to write. Several supplements the app discusses — including berberine and inositol — interact with medications such as metformin and other blood-sugar-lowering drugs. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before starting, stopping or changing anything.
• The PCOS Score, glucose predictions and insights are estimates derived from the data you enter, using published nutritional research. They are not clinical measurements.

If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

3. Who may use PCOS Pal

You must be 18 or older to use PCOS Pal. The app asks you to confirm this before it collects any health data, and users who indicate they are under 18 cannot proceed.

You agree to provide accurate information about yourself and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

4. Your data

Our handling of your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

In short: your health data belongs to you. You can export it and you can delete it — permanently — from Settings at any time.

5. Subscriptions and payment

PCOS Pal offers optional paid plans.

• Billing. Subscriptions are billed through the App Store or Google Play, not by us. Payment is charged to your store account at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Free trials. We do not currently offer one. If we add a free trial later, its length and terms will be shown on the purchase screen before you buy, and any unused portion is forfeited when the subscription starts.
• Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by the store under its own policy, not by us.

6. Community rules

If you post in Circles, you agree to the community guidelines shown in the app. In particular:

• Share your own experience. Do not tell anyone to start, stop or change a medication or dose.
• No selling: no supplement promotion, affiliate links, coaching offers or clinic advertising.
• Do not post anyone else's health information.
• No harassment, and no unsolicited comments about anyone's weight, appearance or food choices.

We may remove content that breaks these rules and may suspend access for repeated breaches. You can report any post and block any member from inside the app.

You keep ownership of what you post. Circle posts are private to you: they are saved on your device and backed up to your own account, in the same way your symptom and cycle logs are, so you can reach them from another device. No other member can read them — there is no shared community feed, and our security rules allow only you to read anything stored under your account. If we enable community sharing we will update these Terms and the Privacy Policy first, and from that point you grant us the licence needed to display your posts to other members of that circle.

7. Acceptable use

Do not:

• Use the app for anything unlawful
• Attempt to access another user's account or data
• Reverse-engineer, scrape or interfere with the app or its infrastructure
• Impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
• Present the app's output as medical advice to others

8. Our content

The app's text, lessons, recipes, workouts, scoring logic, design and code are owned by us or licensed to us. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish or redistribute them.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue features. We may update these Terms; when we make a material change we will tell you in the app or by email, and continuing to use PCOS Pal after that means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using PCOS Pal at any time and delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PCOS Pal is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or that its estimates will be accurate for you.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or health outcomes arising from your use of the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PCOS Pal is operated. (To be completed by counsel — this must name a specific jurisdiction, and it interacts with consumer-protection rules in the EU, UK and several US states.)
